Good Morning Wednesday

Postby JanB » 17 Jan 2024, 08:24

Morning everyone

Blowing a hooley, but mild and more rain to come.

We had the best night last night, they all left about 11.00, we poured ourselves a final glass of wine, before doing the mountain of washing up   and the most mahoosive storm rolled in. Thunder, lightening so bright we could see down the drive and rain - well very much rain, thundering on the roof. And then the lights went out  Stumbled around in the very dark, trying to find matches. Bashed my arm - oucherino - a couple of times, but found them and we just sat here, in the candlelight, watching and listening.

So the mountain of washing up will be done this morning and that's about my lot for the day, apart from making a stew for tomorrow.

Enjoy your day everyone, keep warm over there xx

Morning all, sunny and icily cold here. We had a bit of a lie in, just finished breakfast. The plan for today is to do as little as possible beyond the absolutely necessary, to give us a rest after the last couple of days. I do need to go and get some money from the post office and Edward has mentioned practicing some dances. Off to have my shower shortly then I’ll see where the day takes me.

Good morning all.
That sounds like a very convivial evening Jan, and rain as well! Pity about the lights though.
Resting up after what must have been an emotionally draining few days seems like a sound idea Osc.
Very cold and frosty here this morning. Blue sky but we're already seeing it haze up a little.
In a while we are going to Pontefract for a nosey around and then this afternoon we will be plucking the child Eliza up from the maelstrom that is school chucking out time. Cars and people everywhere. Hopefully she will be in the mood to give me a little cuddle.
Have a lovely day folks.

Morning all, it’s another bright and cold one.

An early start here as John was off up to Manchester for a site visit, he left at 6. He should be back by mid afternoon though. Joe’s also due back from working on the Isle of Wight, he wasn’t sure which ferry they were going to catch though.

Osc, taking it easy sounds like a very good idea. Hope all went as well as these things can x

Crommers, I don’t miss school pick up at all! Although we avoid trying to get on and off the estate (the village primary is at the entrance) at those times. Hope you get your hug.

Have a good day all :D

Morning all :D

Dull and very cold brrrr

Sounds like a fun evening Jan.
Good idea to take it easy today after the last couple of days Osc.
Hope you get a cuddle Crommers.
Jo your day sounds just as busy as usual.

I was a bit worried yesterday evening, my foot was as swollen as it was after the op, it actually didn't look as though it belonged to me. It was really sore by the time we went to bed and I panicked a bit, took one look and thought I'd damaged it. Feeling a bit better today, it was back down again, still swollen but nowhere near as bad. Ed says to stop worrying, it's bound to swell after not bearing weight for so long. Hoping physio can put my mind to rest this Friday.

We slept in late, I actually woke up at 8am, but after using the loo got back into bed and went off again almost immediately. Only woke up again because the phone rang at 10, probably just as well or we'd have slept even longer  Absolutely nothing planned for the rest of the day.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Afternoon everyone :)

Today is mostly cleaning and tidying, as we’re having the house valued tomorrow  Mick reckons it’s fine already, but I want it pristine so he’s cleaning bedroom carpets and I’m tidying away clutter ;)

Jen I’m sure E is right, and hopefully the physio can put your mind at rest xx

Love to all xxx

Hello and good afternoon all
Jan, that sounds like quite a spectacular end to the evening! hope the pile of washing up this morning wasn't too painful
Osc, taking it easy and having some quiet me time far too often is underrated and people tend not to do it enough - enjoy and make the most of it
Crommers, enjoy the afternoon and fingers crossed for that cuddle
Jo, same here, I try time any trips to make sure they don't coincide with school start / finish times. For me to get anywhere usually means passing at least one, if not two or more (depending on the route) schools. Why every parent deems it necessary to drive the biggest fattest SUV and then end up blocking roads whilst they offload their cargo vs parking up somewhere decent and walking a few meters, is beyond me. Safe travels to John and Joe.
Jen, take it easy today and keep the foot elevated when resting. I'm also sure E is right but if you are concerned, call the physio - don't wait until Friday
Oooh Kaz, what did I miss - are you looking to move or just getting a general idea of value? Good luck xx

Office day for me so nothing exciting to report.

Have a lovely day all x
