It had everything I wanted, was in the age bracket and was a reasonable price.

Critical is that it has MOT and Tax on it so I can just ride it away. I'll go up on the train on Saturday.

Basically it's a small car engine on two wheels....

Critically, these bikes can reach as high as 60mpg in slow traffic, can filter through standing traffic and have a fairing which protects my hands and body in inclement weather. It is shaft drive so I don't have to bother about chains and sprockets (£200 a year for a bike of this size with my mileage).

I've insured it at £157. It would have been a lot cheaper but my 3 years no claims is now 3 years old and they only allow 2 years lapse. Also I haven't ridden a bike in 3 years and they penalise me for that too...

I bought a disc lock with siren alarm today at Halfords and I need to get a new helmet. Then I'm set.

Except for owning up to Mrs S that I have it.

Yeah! Live a little. I'm sure you have earned some treats after the hours you put in at work and at home :D
