Car Boot

We have an American friend visiting here, we decided to take him to a car boot yesterday in a country town in Herefordsire..
We stopped at a counter to buy some preserves.
As I asked the man who was selling the jams etc whether he had any marmalade to my amazement he said..
"I know that voice" and he proceeded to call me by my name..
"How on earth can you know my voice and name" I asked.
He stated that I treated his wife some twenty years ago and he, as well as his wife still listen to my tape when they feel the need.
I was flabbergasted, he gave his wife's name that I have long forgotten..
He thanked me and our American friend like my daughter's and myself were utterly bemused.
