Grrrrrrr

Postby Osc » 27 Apr 2023, 18:26

As I said in the morning thread, I had ordered shoes from Pavers, not realising that they would come from England. They tracked as far as an Irish courier called Fastway. My heart sank when I saw that as we have had experience of them before, none of it good. I contacted them today and they say they are “unable to locate the parcel within their network” - in other words, they have lost it, and suggested I contact my supplier for the next steps   I’ve emailed Pavers and we’ll see what happens, although of course it is not their fault.

Another grrrrr - Edward is thinking about getting an Alexa, God help me

Osc I have had a parcel completely disappear thanks to Royal Mail  They tried to deliver something while we were away, I rearranged delivery but it didn't turn up. I tried to track it, the tracker said someone had collected it from the sorting office - impossible as on that date we were still in Cyprus  I went to the Sorting Office, no sign of it! I submitted a complaints form online, they have finally responded and apparently there is no sign of my parcel despite an extensive search. Apparently whoever sent it can submit a claim for compensation, but as I have no idea who sent it, or what was in it, I have hit a brick wall. Grrrrr!!!!!!I

Kaz, when they collect it they need ID and to sign, so they must have that info?

My money is on that not actually being your parcel. I wonder if they put a card through your door, then realised and put a card through the right door who then picked it up?

Hope you get yours sorted Osc

When it was Hermes, now Evri, I sent a parcel to a friend in Birmingham. It was a Christmas present and sent at the end of November. It never arrived.
Many emails incluing several to CEO but no anserw as to what happened to it. S card through the door said it would be delivered the following day.
Finally got compensation after threatening to go to small claims court.
A lovely lady now delivers parcel to me for Evri. She knows which neighbou rwill accpet a parcel if I am not in.
If I send a parcel to gran-daughter I use UPS. Have spoken to one of the rivers who has worked for other courier companies. Says UPS is the best.

SEnt a small parcel to America recently. Had to have an A4 form in tripilcate with it. This is because of EU and Brexit regulations. Used tobe just a small
white form stuck on the parcel.

that's so frustrating Osc, I do hope you get a new pair sent asap.

I'll be honest and say I think one of the reasons so many more parcels seem to go missing is that the delivery guys are totally swamped. We all as a nation are buying more and more online and most the delivery guys get paid per drop not per day; so the guys literally rush from pillar to post; and not sure where you are but the number of roadworks everywhere that just delay them even more..... Definitely not saying it's right, because it really isn't; and it is very annoying especially when it's your own parcel, but given just how many parcels are dealt with every day I'd love to know what the percentage is of items lost.

That is the reason I always opt for Royal Mail (if available) as they are not paid per drop, or I go for 'click and collect' at the Best One shop just round the corner. I never, ever, use Amazon.
