Good morning Friday

Postby Ally » 02 Dec 2022, 07:19

Good morning.

On the move again.

We're getting the 12.41 train to Birmingham. :D

Lunch when we get there then the local train to Sutton Coldfield to stay with our dear friends Gez and Sharon for two nights. :D

They've booked a table at their local Indian restaurant for tonight.
We ate with them there in the summer. It was excellent so looking forward to it again. :)

Have a great day.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Misty and rather cold this morning. This is the last of our dry daysfor a few days, so will make the most of it.

Safe travels Ally and enjoy the Indian meal tonight. Not jealous

Cleaning head on this morning andthe not sure what we'll do. Might pop down to the bar, to take advantage of some sun and check the post.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

hello and good morning all - happy Friday

Safe travels Ally and enjoy the Indian food - yum!
Jan, misty and cold here as well. Hope you manage to get some sun down at the bar ;-)

I like Friday's - it's usually a quiet day work wise so I get a chance to do lots of pootling at home (I've probably just jinxed it  ).

Yesterday was meant to be a quiet'ish day as well. All I had scheduled was a GP appointment after which was was going to come back home carry on working and then heading over to a friends for the evening for a Christmas wreath making event in aid of charity... alas, 20 mins before said GP appointment I saw a little hedgehog walk towards the food bowl - cue a mad scramble to grab a towel to catch the little one and bring it inside. Poor thing only weighs 304gr so far too small to survive hibernation and no chance of gaining the weight needed so off to Wildlife Aid in Leatherhead after the GP appointment to drop it off for overwintering. I have the feeling there is another little one so will be keeping my eyes open the next few days because temperatures are meant to drop quite a bit next week.

Today's pootling will involve sorting through more stuff and boxing up stuff that I will be donating. I've booked a charity collection for Tuesday 13th December using this company: https://anglodoorstepcollections.co.uk/about-us/ highly recommend them; they're nationwide.

Have a lovely day everyone x

Morning all, it’s a pleasant morning here and doesn’t seem to be too cold. Edward will be going to play golf and I have plenty to do here. I have already stripped the bed and put the bedding in the wash, I’ll put fresh bedding on shortly. I’ll be packing for our night away tomorrow, a pre-Christmas dancing night which will be fun. Supermarket delivery this afternoon and my monthly book will be delivered also - this is the first time in 11 months that I have not read last month’s book yet, I’ve been busy and I have a pile of books waiting to be read. I’m dreading next week’s challenge of packing for a five night cruise in two 10kg bags :o It seemed like a great idea when booking the flights but now I’m not so sure I can do it….. The main aim was to have easy to manage bags on trains Gatwick/Southampton and back, the last time we did that there was nowhere to put suitcases, people had them in the aisle. Aer Lingus allow you to check in a 10kg bag each with no charge, we’ll see how it goes!!

Good morning everybody.

It is cloudy and cold. Have put the CH on. Ihad started putting the lights up inthe bay window after breakfast when two vans from VirginMedia arrived.
Also their manager, a lady came to check I was satisfied with the work that had been done. So my three landline phones are now working correctly.
Will finish putting the lights up and then have a coffee. May get some more decorations from the tree.

Ally, can you tell the train drivers not to go on strike next week. I am looking forward to meeting you at B'ham.
Hope you enjoy your cruise OSc

Have a good day evrybody

Morning all :)

Bright and sunny :)

We had a lovely anniversary yesterday, today it's E's 70th birthday, a very bubbly weekend ;)

A busy day for me, what with washing and a thorough whip round the house ready for the invasion tomorrow, I'll need a good sit down this evening. Ooh and Strictly's on a day early, just as well E enjoys it as much as I do :D

Hope you all have a good day xx

Afternoon all, it’s just started to brighten up after another foggy morning.

Bill had his dark and foggy walk first thing. The Tesco order was due between 11 and 12 but I had a text at 10 saying that the driver was ahead of schedule and to reply if I wanted it earlier, I’d just started to dry my hair so ignored the text but the driver obviously ignored me ignoring the text and came anyway. I had to ask him to wait for 10 minutes while I finished drying my hair, I could bear to stand on the doorstep in the cold with wet hair for 5 minutes

It’s John’s last day in work today, he’s off next week and then he’s just working three days the following week, two and a half the week after and then he finishes for Christmas. He’s not been able to take much holiday this year so it’s built up and needs taking before the end of the year.

We saw She Said at the Odeon last night, it was excellent.

Cruiser, you’ve reminded me that I need to book my train ticket for Tuesday. I’m going to try a different train line. The Holiday Inn by the station in town is now housing asylum seekers and quite a few (all men) got on the train last time I used it and I was glad I was with Tom as it wasn’t busy and there were some who kept walking through the train, I’d have felt vulnerable if I’d been alone.

Happy Birthday to E!

Have a good day all :D

Happy birthday E! :D xx
