Good morning Tuesday

Postby Ally » 01 Nov 2022, 06:32

Good morning.

Sunny and forecast 27°. 8-)

Off for a walk then back to make up some rolls for Don and Conor.

Don's getting the 10am bus and will meet Conor at Maria Zambrano train station where they'll get the AVE to Madrid. :D

Conor's got a mate who lives in the city centre so they can stay there tonight and tomorrow.

It's a holiday here today, David's got the day off so I'm meeting him late afternoon for drinks. :D

Have a great day.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Wet  Very wet :Hi: Supposed to be dry and sunny, but we have that misty stuff around and it's also raining and has been for most of the night.

So that's scuppered the plans for washing this morning

We-ll get our new toy out and play with that after breakfast :D

Other than that, no idea what we'll be doing. Reading, I think.

Safe travels to them both Ally x

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Good morning everybody.

There are grey clouds so we may have some more rain. Going shopping. Wil buy some fresh fish from the van which only comes on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Dont like the supermarket stuff which is sealed in plastic and takes a long time to get out of the packaging.
Then it will be back home fo more pootling.
Have a good day everybody

Good morning you three and everyone

Safe travels to the boys Ally, hope they have a fab time in Madrid and you enjoy the afternoon with David
Jan, hope the sun comes out at some point for you
Cruiser, hope you get some nice fish - totally agree, much nicer when it's fresh

A very wet and windy night here so unsurprisingly lots of issues with the trains, but managed to get to work OK so all good. My colleague lives on the Isle of Wight and is trying to make her way across but the ferries were suspended this morning.
Had official notification that poultry / bird lockdown will be effective Monday across all of England. To be honest I'm surprised they've taken this long to do that - because avian influenza is absolutely rife this year - it's devastating the bird populations :(

Have a lovely day all xx

I really should read labels

Picked up some bread yesterday, cut into it this morning and it was orange

Carrot and ginger, apparently. Could just taste a hint of carrot and can now still taste the ginger.

It-s brightened up a little, so the washing machine is on.

Good morning all, it’s dull but dry here. Today will be my main day for doing stuff at home this week as the next couple of days are busy. I need to get the spare room ready for my brother who is coming to stay tomorrow night. There is ironing to be done and at least one wash to go on. So I’d better get moving :D

Seriously impressed with the Karcher :Hi: Thanks for the recommendation Ally :Hi:

The floors have never been so clean

Booked a table for Saturday, at our favourite restaurant. Going with Jan, her hubby, Chris and Lucy to celebrate Grumpy's birthday last month, as we're too unwell to enjoy it.

Bow to do the prep for dinner.

Morning all :D

Wet and windy here

We did loads in the garden yesterday, weeding, picking up all the palm leaves etc, it looked really nice when we finished and completely filled the garden bin. Looking out the window now you'd never guess we did a thing. Okay the weeds are gone, but the garden is completely covered in palm leaves again :o The interesting thing is the tree looks exactly the same :?

Had planned to pop out for some veggies to go with the sausages we're having for dinner, looks like we'll be making do with beans and chips with them now

Hope you all have a good day xx

Good afternoon all.
A dull day here after earlier rain.
I have been to the hospital for a chest x-ray and been prescribed some steroids, MrsC has been to see her Auntie Violet who is in a bad way now and not expected to last much longer.
I have cooked a cottage pie for later.
Jan, I'm the same. I still remember the time I bought some Weetabix, got them home and found out that they were banana flavoured - uuurghh.
Have a good day all.

Afternoon all :)

Ally, I hope they have a brilliant time in Madrid, and you enjoy your drink with David :D xx

Jan that bread sounds very strange   xx

Ria, the bird flu stuff is very worrying :( xx

Jen we had a palm tree at a previous house, so I completely get what you mean about the leaves  xx

Cruiser when I lived in York we had a friend who often visited Whitby, and he used to bring us back fresh fish :) xx

Osc that will be nice - your brother visiting, not the ironing ;) xx

Very sorry to hear that about Mrs C’s aunt, Crommers. Sending get well vibes for you. Steroids always do wonders for D’s bad chests when she needs them, but they do make you hungry xx

We’re round D’s clearing the garden, cutting back shrubs, weeding and sweeping up leaves - dodging torrential downpours - but the green dustbin is completely full now, despite Mick climbing in to compact it down, so we’re finished for now. Ironically the sun’s out now we’re finished  :cute:

Take care everyone:) xx
