Jobs you keep putting off

Postby meriad » 27 Oct 2022, 10:23

I'm sure we all have them - one of mine (one of many sadly) for some reason is putting away clothing once it's off the line / out the dryer. I keep moving the pile from one place to another and finally get so annoyed with it (and myself) that it get's put away and it never takes more than 5 minutes. So why do I keep delaying putting it away?

Daft me :D :D :D

I'd have palpitations if I did that Ria.

My washing gets done, pegged out, brought in and immediately put away.

Any ironing, which is very minimal from me as I live in vests and shorts, or my easy care dresses, Don does it as I'm actually married to a man who likes ironing. :o

I think I'm the type (geek  ) that does things asap so's I know they're not hanging over me.

Once stuff is dry it either gets put in the ironing basket in the utility, or folded and taken upstairs and put away the next time I need to go up ;)

Becky has learned to do the same ;) :cute:

I'm mostly the opposite; a terrible procrastinator and also very easily get distracted and start one thing then something else catches my eye and then I'm off doing something else

Ria, we must be twins from different families! :D :D :D

The washed pile goes on a mystery tour from table to chair to another chair.... When I find that something I want to wear is in the pile that is when the rest get put away.

I am similar with the post. Bills I do file, but the read and recycle pile just grows and grows. It is madness really as I have to pass the recycle bin every time I go out.

Washed pile? I leave all that to Mrs O and touch nothing on pain of death unless I'm ordered to ....

I guess I'm worst at chasing people up who haven't replied to me or done something they were supposed to do. I tend to fret about phoning them up or texting them, and leave it for another day.
Don't know why, just me I suppose.

I wash in the afternoon. The washer is at te back of the kitchen extension take the the clothes out and put the big things like shirts on a
maiden to dry overnight. Small things like hankies , socks and underpants i drape over the washing basket overnight. THey are dry enough
the following day to iron. I do this upstairs on the landing. I leave theironed garments on another maiden overnight before putting them away.
The system works very well and I love the smell of the freshener I use in the washing cycle.
I have the radio on when I am ironing.
