Good morning Tuesday

Postby Ally » 19 Jul 2022, 03:17

Good morning.

Seeing as none of us were fried alive yesterday we're being given another chance today. 8-)

Don's flight was only delayed 15 minutes last night and he got home safe and sound. :D

Today Jack, Aimee and myself are going over to The Fort for a spot of retail therapy.
I've upped my Easyjet luggage allowance to 32 kgs so might as well use it.

We're then going to Hillfield Farm for a carvery. :D

Last time I had a carvery was a week before I moved to Spain...long overdue methinks.

When we get home I need to order my e-tickets for the Pleasure Beach as we're off to Blackpool tomorrow. :cute:

Have a great day.

Morning Ally.

Can't sleep as it is 27 °C atm and no air. Just poured a jug of cold water over my head to try to cool things down.

Think I'll go for a walk.

Good morning both of you! I was also awake early, my sleep was very disrupted so I am very tired. Got the doors and windows open at the moment, but as soon as it becomes hotter outside than in the curtains will be drawn, and the fan will go on. Fraggle is very tired, we wet a towel for him to lie on, but he didn’t like it, daft dog ;)

Take care in this heat everyone xxx

Morning everyone

More cloud than sun at the moment and a rather cool morning 8-) Warming up later.

Kaz, a bowl of iced water in front of a fan will cool the air around Fraggle, he might prefer it to a damp towel. Jan tried it with her dog and he much preferred it. He also hated a wet spot to lie on

I have a small pile of ironing to get through this morning and then will get in the pool, to cool down  Athletics for me this afternoon and we're treating ourselves to a (hopefully) nice steak for dinner.

Enjoy Blackpool Ally :Hi: We used to go every year, as we lived not too far away.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing. Keep cool over there xx

Morning everyone

Dare I say as sorry as I am that the meet today was cancelled, I am rather very pleased that I'm not having to put up with London Transport / trains today. Staying indoors where it's a few degrees cooler than outside suits me just fine :D

Ally enjoy the carvery - haven't had one in years!
Frank, Kaz and Saundra - try have an afternoon nap if you can. Thankfully tonight is meant to be a bit cooler.
Jan, enjoy the pool - if you weren't that far away I think you'd have a fair few VV'ers knocking on your door asking to use the pool :D :D

Oddly enough, I went to bed with the fan on and only a sheet for cover, woke up about 1am and switched off the fan and at about 3am woke up again because I was chilly and had to put the duvet over my shoulders (only shoulders, rest of body was fine). Up at 5.20 and at the allotment by 6 to water - just such a fabulous peaceful time to be there. Took a while to walk home because I got so fed up with the brambles overhanging the footpath to get to the allotment so I took my secateurs with me and on the way home cut back as much as I could. Had one dog walker pass me as I was busy and she was so grateful so made it all worth while. But seriously at one particular point you couldn't even walk along the footpath and had to step into the road to avoid being caught up / scratched. Awkward enough for me that's fit and able bodied but I know there is one blind person that walks that road quite regularly and his guide dog won't realise what's going on and he'll walk right into everything and anyone pushing a pram or needing a wheelchair / mobility scooter etc - they'd struggle big time

So that was my good deed for the day, and besides that today will be another usual usual for me .... mix of work and pootle

stay cool everyone and have a lovely day x

Morning all, I’ve slept on the sofa because John doesn’t like the sound of a fan running and it was far too hot on the top floor which is where the bedroom is. It’s so much warmer in here this morning than last night, we didn’t have that overnight cool down did we. The BBC are just reporting that the temp overnight was the highest ever recorded.

We’re going to the Odeon tonight to see the new Railway Children film. The combination of air con and their recliners might mean we just sleep

Right, I’m off to make some sausage rolls for with salad for dinner tonight.

Kaz, I’ve tried the cold damp towel with Bill and he refuses to lie on it, I’d thought of buying him a cool mat but decided it’d be pointless

Take care all xx

Good morning everybody.

Slept on top of the bed last night. I will be having a doze today. Am keeping inside as Ihad a few hours in the sun yesterday.
May have a salad for dinner. Too hot for anything cooked.
Have a jug of water in the fridge. Use it to dilute lime cordial. Am havingseveral glasses each day. Better than a hot drink.
Have had to throw milk away as it is going off. Have put ther milk from a new pastic bottle into smaller containers so i can keep
them in the fridge.
Will be completing the form for a refund for mytrtain tickets this mroning.

Have a good day everybody.

Morning all, hazy sunshine but nicely warm here. Edward went to golf a bit earlier today as his friend needs to be somewhere later on. We’re expecting a parcel so I can’t go for a walk until it arrives - it’s UPS and they tell you the day but don’t give a time window. Otherwise just pottering around the house, washing to come in, washing to go out, maybe some gentle dusting…..

Morning all.
slept on top of the bed for most of last night and had a decent night's sleep.
I'm glad Don got off OK Ally.
We have been to Sainsbury's this morning - lovely air con!
I think I might go again this afternoon!
Last scorchio day anyhow.
Have a good one everybody.
