Ahhh memories

Postby Osc » 22 Apr 2013, 16:13

Miss Osc had a lovely dolls house which my mother had had made for her and we have been storing it in the post office for many years. Today we brought it to our house and Mr. Osc spent the afternoon painting it and doing small repairs while I washed all the little pieces of furniture. Miss Osc loved it when she was little, and we are hoping that Michael will love it too - we reckon that one of the downstairs rooms can be converted into a garage for him to park his little cars. Hopefully Miss Osc won't think it is too girly for him to play with, after all they bought him his own little kitchen, and we've really enjoyed working on it this afternoon and remembering the fun she had with it.

I hate dolls.

We viewed a house years ago and I was totally in love with it until we came to the last bedroom.
It was wall to wall FULL of flippin ugly china dolls...way too creepy.

Needless to say there was no second viewing for us.

Our 3 boys were mad nuts for Lego..as was their mum.

I remember Christmas 1990 building a fantastic Lego fire station that Santa had brought Craig.

Lego was too fiddly for me.

I had a dolls house my dad built me and how I wish I still had it. I am sure Michael will love it and Miss Osc will enjoy revisiting old memories too.

I had a garage as well and lots of cars.

My best friend had a riding stable, how I envied her that

Lovely that you still have it Osc, I'm sure Michael will enjoy it :)
I had a lovely dolls house, can't remember who made it, maybe an uncle, it had real lights :) I loved having it, but never played with dolls in it.
Virtually all my toys were passed on to younger children, which I guess is good too, they got well used :)

Kaz I had Bettabuilder, I loved it :D I saw it in the shop at the end of the road and saved my pocket money for weeks and weeks, it was 10/6  I'd kept it, even till Bb's flat, but sadly it got so brittle that as soon as you tried to put bits together they broke :(
