What a shame. The Dandy and Beano were such a part of my childhood.

Mine too - I loved 'boys' comics :D I modelled myself on Beryl the Peril - in fact I still have a penchant for stripey jumpers 8-)  ;)

Many childhood fights with my brother as to who had the Beano or the Dandy first. Somewhere in my attic I have an original hand drawn crayon sketch of Pansy Potter on a paper napkin done by the original artist. He came in for a meal and drew it just for me as I was so excited to meet him. It's up there somewhere :!:

Pansy Potter, the strong man's daughter. I remember her. I was a great one for boys' comics too. My older sister got Girl Friend and Girl's Crystal but I was more interested in my little brothers' comics. Superman was a big favourite. Then later on there was the Topper and the Beezer. They were twice the size of the Dandy and Beano. What has happened to them? Have they gone out of print now too?

Topper was the comic I loved, because of Beryl The Peril  I have a Beryl ornament packed away somewhere.
