Setting up a business bank account

Postby Suff » 18 Apr 2013, 17:23

Used to be MUCH easier.

Finally I have the account. Finally I've been paid in it. I had racked up >£10,000 of invoices I couldn't bank and I was spending money like water travelling and living.

So today I went to get the hire car and went to the bank to transfer some money. Having been too slothful to set up the internet banking.

When I got back to my desk, I registered for my internet banking. Only to find they've done personal banking, not business banking. No account at the end of half an hour's setup.

Call the support line. Can they add the business account to my personal one? No, but they can add my personal one to my business one!! What good is THAT, I don't have a personal account with them which is why, every time I log in it says "You don't have any accounts with us".

So what are they going to do? They are going to send my business internet banking details to my "personal" address. I have a redirect on the business mail but not on the personal address I'm using. This, of course, is now going to take another two weeks and it's going to require another £130 trip back up to Lincolnshire to get the letters.

That horrible ripping sound you are hearing is my remaining hair going south........

Sorry suff but I just help but laugh. I feel your frustration, I've been there, and gave up, and that was just getting a personal account. Hubby however succeeded, (identical paperwork, bank, branch, envelope even. So I just used his.

Good luck. I really hope you don't get sent on the wild goose chase I got sent on.
