What a day!

Postby Kaz » 23 Dec 2020, 16:11

My day has been mostly spent trying to rearrange a Covid test delivery for D as the one they sent her had the test vial missing! Absolutely no joy on the phone sorting that, so I booked her a drive-thru test at Hempstead, just outside the city! Blimey, what a magical mystery tour THAT was! Drive here, park there, show your ID, wind the window down, wind it up again! All whilst trying to reassure a very nervous D that it will all be ok!

She has NOT got the virus, it's her stupid GP insisting she has one because her oxygen stats were low on Monday when she went for a check-up. Of course they were - they left a frail 84 year old sitting outside the surgery, in a dark car park, in freezing cold rain, waiting to be called in, for half an hour  She's not ill, just very anxious, with a serious lung condition  :(

I'm pretty cross! :(

They what? Was she waiting outside or inside a car?

Either way - that's shocking and I too would be pretty cross. Poor D, hope she's feeling a bit better about everything pretty soon. Sending a big VV hug to her x

That's rather callous of them Kaz and very uncaring.

You would have thought that the doctor would have recognised the problem.

Hope she's feeling better now xx

She was in the car Ria, but it's an unlit car park, behind the surgery. The doctor came out with a torch! Ridiculous. I honestly think this country is going mad :o :?

Thanks for the hugs Saundra xxx

Jan, it was uncaring, bordering on callous. D is frail, yes, but it takes a fair bit to rattle her - and she was rattled! :(

Kaz, whoever manages your GP surgery needs a really good kick up the rear end. I would complain.

Being treated in that way is really not.... for anyone never mind a frail 84 yr old lady.

Not surprised you're cross, Kaz, that's an awful palaver both over the original surgery visit and the Covid Testing centre.

Wow Kaz! :o

Shocking!!

I have my own covid test tale to relay but I will say, with absolute certainty, that these tests that are supposed to be readily available are absolutely not.

Ditto the powers that be that are supposed to be in the know and help.

I've been left shocked at what an absolute shambles this all is.

I had better help from David via the Spanish embassy than I did here!!

I'm not exaggerating when I tell you booking my Covid test has taken the best part of 7 hours!!!

I'll post tomorrow as I'm mentally pooped!!

A hug for D Kaz. xxx
