Good morning Thursday

Postby Ally » 22 Oct 2020, 04:43

Good morning.

Today, for the first time in 6 months we have rain! :Hi: :Hi:

It's very mild at 24 degrees so it feels quite tropical.

We'd best make the most of it as it's only forecast for one day. :?

Usual work day for me then meeting Don at 7 for pre-weekend beers and a bite to eat.

Have a great day.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Foggy this morning  and damp ;) We had rain during the night and more to come this afternoon.

I dislike these dark mornings :( Molly goes out about 5.30 and I'd get up in the summer, but now, just stay in bed and doze

General pootling today. cut all the meat off the lamb and decide what to do with it all 8-) and make a curry for Saturday.

Apart from that, not a lot.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning you two

Ally, that's good news - hopefully it's a nice steady rain that tops up the water table a bit. When (if) do you usually have rain or do you rely on what falls in mountain areas and then trickles down?

Jan, I dislike the mornings as well - at least with working from home I don't have to be up at 5.30 to go to work and I can lie in until a bit later. Use some of the lamb for the curry and then shepherds pie :D yum!

A bit of work this morning then heading out to take Thomas for his driving lesson as both parents are working. So I'll be taking laptop with me and making my car my mobile office :D . Food shopping afterwards and then home. The house is an absolute tip at the moment - I have two small outhouses that I use for storage and yesterday I had the wall between the two knocked out to make it one larger and more functional room; what a difference it makes. But it meant taking everything that was in there and bringing it inside. So now a case of getting some of my old kitchen units installed in the outhouse, new countertop on and then I can move things back in. Karl is helping me with the units and countertop at some point between now and 2nd November. Cannot wait to have my home back as it should be and then once that is done I can tackle the greenhouse (general quick tidy) and then the bigger job is sorting the large shed. That'll keep me busy for the rest of this year :D

Have a lovely day all x

Good morning all, it’s sunny here and quite mild.

I walked Bill in the dark, the sun was just rising as we walked home, then got changed and went for a run. I’ve arranged for the old sofa and chair from the downstairs living room to be picked up today by the local hospice shop and they can be here any time between 8 and 3 (although they’ll call 30 minutes before arrival) so I wanted to be back and ready in case they phoned. There’s also an Amazon parcel coming at some point.

There’s washing on the go and I’ve got the bathrooms to clean.

Have a good day all!

Morning all, it’s a bright day here as we start our first day of a six week lockdown. Things won’t change too much for us really except for a 5km limitation on non-essential travel. Also golf clubs are closed, but Edward says he doesn’t really mind and he is currently at the grassy area across the road practising his putting. Kellie and Michael will be here later (essential child care ;) ) and I am waiting for the supermarket delivery.

Good morning everybody, It is raining so have to stay inside.
Tried to phone the doctor this morning to make an appointment in December. When I saw the nurse in October she said my blood pressure was up.
But after 20 minutes I was cut off. So drove to the surgery. No problem parking and no one waiting to see the receptionist. She said I was too
early to make an appointment for December.
After a coffee, started getting ready to fit a new LED light in the loft. Have taken the flourescent lughts down. Put them on the local Freecycle
site and someone came to pick them up.
Going to have lunch and then go in the loft.
Have a good d ay everybody.

Morning all :D

Bright and sunny here 8-)

Had a nice chat with Z yesterday, she's planning to bring the boys down to visit one day next week. As our bungalow is open plan it won't be too difficult to distance if it's too cold to sit outside. A lovely treat to look forward to.

Expecting a Sainsbury's delivery this afternoon and that's all the excitement for today.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Afternoon everyone :)

Ally, today feels like the first day we haven't had rain in six months :P  It's actually a beautiful autumn day here, crisp and sunny - the trees are beautiful colours this year 8-)

Jan, I agree with Ria about the lamb :D

Ria how is T getting on with his lessons? Harry has a test booked for 14th December :)

Jen that will be lovely, to see Z :)

*Waves to all*

We've done the weekly shop, and since I got back I've planted some more bulbs. I have ironing waiting for me  Just got an email too confirm an overnight booking in a lovely B&B in Bath for Mick's birthday. A great deal on Travelzoo, overnight in a four-poster, afternoon tea on arrival, complimentary bottle of plonk - really looking forward to it 8-)
