...I’ve just seen the first house with a Christmas tree in the window and icicle lights outside

I haven't even though about it.

Sorry, tell a lie. I'm cooking lunch for about eight :o . In my tiny kitchen

My daughter in law was talking about it a couple of weeks ago

Jan, I think I’ll be very last minute this year and play it by ear.

Christmas 2020 is going to be soooo special for many people.

Some will never share another with loved ones and desperately want it to be 'the one', whilst others will make those Christmases remaining to them even more special.

For me it has lost its true meaning and has become little more than a spendfest, and I am no way religious.

I must admit, I have started my present shopping  The only present I want is to have my family around me, safe and well.

The true spirit of Christmas, now I certainly would welcome that back.

For a lot of people, me included, anything to look forward to and celebrate is very welcome this year.

Jo, re the Seasons Greetings signage, wonder if that's because there are worries of another lock down and then the decorations can't go up - so do it now whilst we can so it's in place for later in the year?

Not sure about putting the tree up now though - that is a bit early. Unless maybe they have family that's about to move, someone critically ill (hopefully not) so they want to celebrate whilst they can?

between Nadine and I we've already decided we're going all out for Christmas this year - not with presents but with lights and making everything pretty. It's all dull enough at the moment so anything to add a sparkle to life will be welcome :D . We have already booked a table at a restaurant for Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas day will be the usual relaxed day at Nadine with just us; and maybe another friend if she has no where to go.
