Silly me

I've put on a bit of weight recently (too much beer and wine  )

so thought, as it's not raining - I'll go for a walk :D

Grumpy doesn't walk as quickly as I used to, or want to, so on Friday, off I went - on my own, with phone, in case it rained  Walked around the block, ish, down to beach, around the camp-site and back - about 50 minutes. Felt fine :)

Yesterday, persuaded Grumpy to come with me, so we strolled  around, same course. But had to stop for a coffee (beer actually  ) and came back.

So today, even though my ankle ached a little, off I went again. Blowing a hoolie  almost got blown in the the harbour  gert gusts of wind

Stomped up the hill and I was aching - ankle, just above the knees too and I had to stop a couple of times, as something was in my shoe.

Limped  a bit home, wouldn't ring Grumpy.

Sat in the garage - with water  - inspected the damage

Four blisters (between toes - even though I took me sock off at one stage  )

And a very achey ankle.

Grumpy has told me off

So no walking allowed tomorrow - but I can go again on Tuesday - if he lets me

You be careful with those blisters Ton.... I have history with them on my pinky so I know.

Apparently you will have to wrap your whole leg in clingfilm and hang upside down from the rafters till they heal.... or just take a break from the long walks for a while.

    WM

I don't think the rafters would hold my (increased) weight

Have some of those Kaz, but they're in the bathroom cabinet

Ally, I need something proper for me tootsies to wear. I seem to remember you wear Birtinstock (sorry, rubbish spelling) jobbies. My problem will be my ankle, as the break was just above the ankle joint, and even though I have been very good with the cream, I have some lovely scars on the ankle joint and above. And also the pins and get lump of metal

Oh yes..I love my Birkenstocks for round the house and garden.

I seem to remember you saying something before about trainers being difficult for you to wear?
Or have I made that up?

I always wear my trainers out walking as it's not unknown for me to break into a run.

Ouch Ton, that sounds really painful :(

I've also got a few pairs of Birkenstocks and love them; they really are very comfy esp when it's warm. And I know they're not everyone's style (they're in the same league as marmite - you either love or hate) but Crocs are really super comfy as well and very light.

Definitely get some well fitting shoes, you can do yourself more harm than good if you are walking around in wrong and ill fitting shoes.

I'm of the opinion that good shoes are one thing you should spend money on

Hope the blisters go away soon. Ouch

Nooooooo, not doing crocs, sorry -we get them here in all sorts of lovely colours  Thonk lime green, florescent pink, spotty ones.....

I need support for the ankle, without it rubbing - I can't do trainers yet, I've tried  but as my ankle still swells up a liitle - well, it did today (another telling off  ) I'll have to ask a friend - local bod, who knows everything - or who knows some-one who knows everything

Thank you Weka xx

I've always looked after my tootsies, as I've got fallen arches, apparently. My mum made me have inserts - which made my feet bleed - but they were to correct my walking, yeah, right.

Thn I had me bunions done and really got into proper footwear - especially as I then did the Moon Walk - twice.
