Sometimes I really do wonder...

Postby debih » 24 Mar 2013, 10:55

Mick has decided that he is going to clear the lane so that he can get his van out. Personally, I wouldn't bother. My car is down there and I have told him he can use that tomorrow as I will walk to work but he says he wants to clear it so fair enough.

It is quite a long stretch of lane to clear and then when you get down to the squeeze it is usually cleared by the Heights of Abraham staff although I'm not sure if they have done it yet. Its about a mile from the squeeze to the main road, all downhill.

I commented to him about checking lower down to see if it had been cleared and I was shouted at "don't you think I'll do that. Do you think I'm stupid".

So off he's gone to clear the lane. When I asked if he was taking the dog with him to look if the rest of the lane beyond the squeeze had been cleared he told me he would come back for her as he would clear the lane first and then go and see if the rest of the road was passable.

Sigh.

He gave up as it is frozen solid underneath. He just cleared a walkway down to the squeeze.

I asked him if it was clear below the squeeze and he said he didn't look.

I know it wasn't as my friend lives just below the squeeze and she put photos on FB showing the lane outside her house.

Men!

John went out to clear the drive yesterday afternoon...and ended up clearing a large section of the road too, about 25 yards of it. I told him it was a pointless exercise with more snow forecast but he carried on and moaned about his aching arms all day.
Guess what? There's another couple of inches fallen on it overnight
