Hello I is back

Came home yesterday instead of today. We had had three days of relentless rain, and had run out of waterproof clothing. Plus we had eaten the biscuits and I had finished my book, so time to go.
We had a nice time, despite the rain but I have to say I wouldn't rush back. Brixham didn't endear itself to me and the fact we ended up paying almost £90 in parking charges didn't help. We bought a weekly parking pass, but one night it either fell or we didn't put it on the dashboard firmly enough and we got not one, but two parking tickets. Given that for the previous two nights our car was one of about five left overnight, they must have seen it previously with a weekly pass. I paid up, but have now written to them. Doubt anything will happen but worth a try.
The town was dead. Most nights we were one of only a two couples in the restaurants and Thurs we were the only ones in the restuarant and the pub we went in afterwards. The only people out and about were either drunk, two nights we got someone trying to talk to us who could hardly stand up and an old lady, sleeping rough in a shop doorway.
We visited Salcombe, Dartmouth and Totnes, all nice enough, but Paignton and Torquay were pretty grim in my opinion. Have to declare South Devon is not for me, and I have tried it three times now
If ever I wake up in hell, it will look like Paignton
Kaz I did quite like Dawlish, even in the rain and wind
