We're off to Bristol tomorrow to look round the Uni - and the zoo   - so won't be around until the evening :)

I'll catch you all then - that's if they let us out of the zoo again, with all of those teens in tow

Have a good day Kaz, hope the weather isn't too bad for you.
Did you say that the university is attached to the zoo?

Yes, this course - Bsc (Hons) in Integrated Wildlife - is heavily involved with the zoo :)

I'm expecting to really enjoy myself, even if Becks decides it isn't for her   I've wanted to work at Bristol Zoo ever since the Animal Magic and Johnny Morris days :D :D :D

I'll post all about it when we get back 8-) :D

We're back - and it did, go very well indeed. In fact B is now totally torn between NTU and Bristol :?:

Personally my money is now on Bristol - the Clifton Campus is bang on top of the zoo - how many other classrooms can you step straight out of and be right there, with all the animals 8-) They study three days a week and then one day a week they work with the keepers. I was wrong about the course itself - it starts as a two year foundation degree, but then if you pass that you can automatically go into the third year and it becomes a Bsc (Hons), so ends up as the same. The resources there are amazing - not only all of that hands on experience with the animals but also all of the zoo's files and research to call on for their studies........It seemed a lot more vibrant and less 'dry' than the NTU course, to me, but of course it is Becks' decision.

They have study trips - one year is study on Exmoor, another is Gibraltar to study the Macaques (sp?) and also South Africa or maybe Costa Rica, they are not decided yet................

The accommodation is slap in the city centre but they get a free bus pass when they book accommodation, and frequent buses between all the campuses............and the advantages of city centre living right on the doorstep.

I wish I was 18 - I'd be there in a heartbeat
