Remember my post about the cheek of people on freecycle....

well today there was a lady asking for all sorts of scrap cable and metals so she can take them to a scrap yard and then donate the cash to CLIC - a childrens cancer charity. She lost her 16 month old nephew to cancer end last year so is now trying to raise money for the charity who helped the family through it all and is still helping....

What a difference compared to those asking for boats with outdoor motors etc. So I'm going to nag my friends close by to dig out what they have so I collect as much as possible and pass it on. :)

I hope she really is giving the money to a charity.

Oh I'm such a sceptic.

Possibly, but she might be genuine - some people are still ;)

I wonder if there is some way of checking her out Ria, before you go to any trouble. I hope she is genuine, it's a brilliant cause xxxxx

I think it's quite genuine... this is what was posted:

Hi All

I am currently collecting scrap mental & any cables for CLIC Sargent the children's cancer charity.

I take it to scrap yard and then donate money to the charity.

CLIC Sargent have been supporting out family since my baby nephew was diagnosed with cancer last July. Unfortunately we lost him in November aged 15 months & 3 days.

CLIC have been and still are absolutely fantastic to our family. I want to do anything I can to raise money for the charity as well as raise awareness.

This is CLIC website - http://www.clicsargent.org.uk/

This is one of our giving pages where you can also read all about little Georgie's story - http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundrai ... Team=false

Many thanks for reading xx

and if it's a scam then shame on her and I still get rid of old chargers I no longer need.....
