apparently they are in Manchester,

well i had a phone call this afternoon from them--

calling about your life insurance premiums- eh,i haven't got any with you,

oh well what about your Funeral plan-eh, haven't got one of those with you either,

oh um well what about your Mortgage Protection plan -eh haven't got that with you either,so suggest you take my name @ number off your system.

That's interesting, Vic, I thought they'd banned telemarketing in this country, but apparently not.

The Gov.uk website (under marketing and advertising law) merely says this:

Telesales and fax marketing
You must say who you are when you make a telesales call, and give your address or phone number if you’re asked for it. The number for customers to call must be a freephone number.

I had a call a couple of weeks ago about our life insurance policy. Apparently the company who called, and I can't think of their name now, were acting on behalf of who we hold our policy with to get us a better deal.

However, despite supposedly acting on behalf of our insurers, he couldn't actually tell me who they were
