Me: the witness!

Postby Workingman » 24 Mar 2017, 13:33

Car parks turns are a bit tight so a blue Ford Focus stopped short to let me and the car in front turn in. As I am walking back the woman in the Focus is stood next to her car and asks if there is any CCTV about?

It turns out that the car in front of me, a Toyota Aygo, had raked the side of her car - back door, wheel arch and bumper - as she turned in and had then driven off. As we are assessing the damage a Jaguar drives past, so does a Mondeo and then a Corsa.

Next thing we know this woman marches up all guns blazing! "What were you doing driving into my car? You should see the damage! Were you in the car behind? You are my witness...."

"Stop right there. I was in the car behind and this lady's car was stationary. You drove into her. I am her witness, and we have photos."

"Well then I'll call the police."

"You carry on, we will see if we can get more witnesses"

Eventually the women swapped details and it all calmed down.

The man in the Jag had been listening in... "If I got my tank past without hitting you she should have been able to in that roller skate she's driving!"
