Would you consider yourself a fussy eater?

or would others think that without you realising? And I mean fussy about 'normal' food, not odd things like offal (excepting liver - that I like), chicken feet, chicken heads etc... that's just not normal in my books

Ton was asking if there's anything I don't eat and as I started typing my reply I thought to myself that I'm actually quite easy to please.. But then as I was typing away the list got just that bit longer than I thought  .

As I said to Ton, there probably are four foods I really don't like and will pick out / decline.... anchovies, raw celery, fruitcake (anything with raisins, peel etc) and marzipan. But there are a few foods that whilst I don't like them and wouldn't cook / buy for myself, I'd eat if I was served them... one that most people don't get is black pepper. Also cooked raisins, fish with bones and a few other things. But generally I consider myself a not very fussy person. But then compared to my colleague who is a real foodie - I am quite difficult; she's tried some really weird things

What are you?

I think I'm probably a difficult dinner guest, due to food allergy, but I don't think I am fussy, as I will eat anything that isn't likely to make me I'll

I'm not keen on offal, or beetroot, but as I am not allergic I would eat them if they were served up to me :)

I'm not fussy - just picky ;)

I dislike fat of any kind or jelly on tinned ham and will always cut/scrape it off

Not keen on fish, but am now having to eat some. Don't like milk, but will add it to porridge, so it's disguised.

And my eggs have to have a hard yolk, cannot stand a runny yolk.

I am dairy intolerant, but I manage fine. I never have milk, cream, cheese with cow's milk, dairy yogurt, chocolate only rarely. I don't like tomatoes except in a sauce, onions, offal, anchovies, raw peppers, I am allergic to shellfish.....but no, not fussy

I always used to say I would eat anything, but it's not true. The list of 'won't eat' is ridiculously long, the following is just a small selection

Red meat must be well cooked, even a bit of pink turns my stomach so I never order it in a restaurant.
Love chicken, but don't eat meat on the bone so it must be the breast.
Fat's a definite no no.
Love meaty fish like fresh salmon, but not shellfish.
Aubergine, yuk yuk yuk!!!
Blue cheese, even more yuk.

I'm lucky to have such a tolerant husband, whenever we're out somewhere we've not been to before, E always lets me choose the restaurant. After checking the menu he says so long as there's something I can eat he'll be fine as he really does eat just about anything. If I'm dithering, like the sound of something but not sure what will arrive at the table, he orders a dish I'll definitely eat and will swap if necessary.

Soft, runny, smelly cheeses are definitely out. I often wonder about the first person to try one: "Hmm, smells of sweaty feet and baby sick, I really must give that a go!"

Apart from that most anything goes. I would be alright on I'm a Sleb... ;)

I have always been a slow eater, and for many years I have been on a low-fat diet
and eat plenty of fruit and veg. I don't like to over-eat, and find that most meals
bought out are much to big, and I have to leave half. But I'm fit and exceptionally
active for my age, so I intend to stay that way. So I guess you could call me fussy.

I'm not keen on pizza (the crust is the best bit!) but will eat a slice if there's nothing else. Oddly though, I love it whenever we have it in the US but then we usually find a small pizza shop and buy from there. We found an amazing one in LA, small little shop in a rundown row of shops but we were starving so ordered two to take back to the hotel...then went back the following night because they were so good! Never had pizza that compares with US pizza over here.

Tomato and basil soup. It seems to be the favoured starter option at weddings now or the usual soup of the day when eating out and I can't even stand the smell. I think it's the basil as I don't like sauces with it in either.

Cucumber.

Green peppers.

Tomatoes. They're okay-ish. I'll eat them if they're on my plate but I wouldn't specifically choose them, unless they were cherry tomotoes. Much prefer those.

Oh yes, tomatoes

Will eat them in a salad, but don't like them cooked or tinned.

Not a pizza lover either.

Loathe Portuguese sausages
