Southerners are advised not to travel unless absolutely necessary.

Northerners - you will need your big coat today.

It's been a very poor attempt at a storm here, I'm glad to say. A strong cold wind and rain but that's about it.

When I were a lad we used to stand at t' bus stop in us Fred Perrys in this weather!

Rodo, that cracked me up because it's so true. Train services in and out of London, to all destinations be they north, South, East or West are all hugely delayed or cancelled....

Joe's just walked to and from the gym in shorts and a hoodie. I just commented on the weather to him when he got home and all he said was "it's not too bad".

Sitting in my car at the traffic lights and a girl walked past desperately holding on to the skirt of her rather skimpy summer frock.... no tights, dinky pumps and a not very warm looking coat. Temperature outside apparently 9 degrees. I was shivering just watching her

I never zip up the old anorak, basically because I can never get the zip started; I always wear it open. There's a covered walkway down the side of the supermarket where they park the trollies, and today in the storm it was an absolute wind-tunnel. I turned into it to get a trolley, and the wind took the anorak off my back, leaving my arms pinioned like a straight-jacket!! :o
