Good morning Tuesday

Postby Ally » 03 Jan 2017, 06:22

Good morning. :D

Having a coffee then off for a 7km power walk.

Back to meet David at 9am to drive him to a garage to get a new battery for his car.

Planning on spending the rest of the day at home. That's the plan anyway!

As things are gearing up for C*******s here anything could happen! :cute:

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning! Too dark to see what it's like outside yet!

Back to normal today. Tom went back yesterday, John's back at work today and Joe has college this afternoon, he thinks - he needs to call and check this morning. I'll see if the footpaths are icy before deciding whether to have an early walk or not. Definitely a day for blitzing the house anyway.

Have a good day all!

Morning all! :)

Ally, is it the 5th or 6th there? :)

Jo we have very thick frost that looks like snow :cute: Much better than rain, admittedly, but I'll have to wear my boots up to zumba and change there then change back to walk up to D's ;) Totally back to normal here now, back to work for Mick, back to Zumba and WW points for me, and job hunting for Becky!

Have a good day everyone :) xxx

Morning everyone

Dry now and no wind, but we had a lot of rain yesterday and last night - the pool is now almost full again  Quite warm.

Waiting for a delivery - they're supposed to actually come here  rather than the bar.

No idea what we'll be doing for the rest of the day, probably doing nowt except read and watch rubbish on the tele

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Day of Kings is the 6th Kaz - there will be a procession the night of the 5th where hundreds of sweets get thrown from the floats. It's all such great fun. :D :D

Morning all

A very frosty start to the day here as well, I had to scrape 2 days worth of ice off the car this morning given I didn't use it since Sunday midday and it never really got warm enough to totally defrost :) The sun is trying very hard to peep through a hazy layer of clouds, it looks very wintery out there. One of the boilers in the office went on the blink over the long weekend so it's a bit nippy inside as well.

Well sort of back to normal here as well; usual work day but no bosses in which is nice. I'm heading over to some friends after work which will be nice. They're near Elephant and Castle which is a totally alien area for me so I'll be relying on my google maps on the phone to get me there :D

Ally, the Spanish way of doing things does make so much more sense really, ie giving gifts on Epiphany (when the three kings made their way to Bethlehem) vs gifts on Christmas. For me Epiphany is the day the Christmas tree comes down and all things to do with Christmas are packed away for another year.

Have a lovely day all, stay warm x

Morning all :D

Bright and sunny here :D

One of the nicest things about being retired is not having to think about getting back to normal  Each day can be whatever we want it to be 8-)

We must get our decorations down, but it's not likely to happen today, we're off to the cinema to see Assassin's Creed. Not seen any reviews, but the trailer was full of action so I'm sure we'll be fine

Hope you all have a good day :D

Kaz, the thick frost we had last night had surprisingly all gone when I ventured out to the bin, I thought it'd perhaps thawed and turned to ice overnight but thankfully it hadn't, the paths were just damp, so me and Bill got an early walk after all.

Bathrooms have been cleaned (love the new steam cleaner!!) and now Joe's just left for college I can get the hoovering done throughout without having to go back later to do his room

I'll walk Billy again before it gets dark, it'll save us having to go out with him tonight. John's just phoned and he's feeling rather happy. There's a colleague of his who's based in India while the work's ongoing out there. He's not a very nice person and unfortunately John has to have a lot of dealings with him, which usually come about when he's accusing John and his department of not designing something properly. He's always very abrupt in email, always copies the boss into them and John made the mistake on NYE of looking at his work emails and sure enough there was one from this fella asking why he'd done something on a drawing when it obviously wasn't going to work, bearing in mind that there are 100s of drawings per job and John couldn't actually remember what he'd done and if he was right or wrong until he went back into work today.
Anyway he's checked drawings and notes this morning and his department are in the clear, what has been done was actually sanctioned by this man but he hadn't passed the changes onto John's department for a design alteration. As John said, it's John 1378 - Paul 0  Every few days John's being accused of something by him and every single time it all leads back to a lack of communication on his part.
No one really wants to get him into trouble though as he might walk out on the job and it'd mean one of them then having to go to India for a long spell.
