of the cut finger :?

You might remember I mentioned cutting my finger quite nastily on Monday, on a food processor blade? Mick strapped it up for me quite tightly with a plaster, so despite it having bled a lot I thought that would be it! Last night I tried removing the plaster and it bled like billy-oh ,so I rang my MIL (ex nurse) to ask her what she thought - should I go and get it seen to? Anyhow in the end we popped round to see her and she put some steri-strips on it "It might need a bit of glue if it bleeds again" she said "but it should be ok.............."

This morning it stated to seep again under the strips so I strapped it up again with the clean steri-strips D had given me. B and I walked into town late morning, and it was throbbing, so remembering what D had said about glue I nipped into the A&E dept and asked if I should get it looked at. No problem there, waited about 10 minutes as it was very quiet and then I saw the nurse......She peeled off the steris, looked at my finger which had stopped bleeding. "Oh no need for glue, that's stopped now - you can put a plaster on it though if you want just to keep out infection"..........."Have you got a plaster then, please?"......."Oh no, you can use any plaster you might have at home" :? Obviously Mick doesn't pay enough NI for me to qualify for a plaster on the NHS :?

So me and my naked finger wander back into town, I went for a cuppa and a read in a coffee shop and then had to use the loo, as you do........Blow me down the moment I put my hand under the warm water tap to wash my hands the finger opened up and bled all over the place, including a little bit on my recently cleaned coat   :x :x So clutching a tissue to it I rushed into the Poundshop to buy plasters.......slight panic when I didn't think I had a pound in change on me (you can't use your card for under a fiver) but found one in my coat pocket, and finally get a plaster for my finger! It's still bleeding very slightly, through the plaster

Was a dab of glue or even a plaster on it too much to ask???

I can't believe that  Fancy not even putting a plaster on your finger. Silly nurse
Can you keep your arm slightly elevated Kaz until it has stopped bleeding for a good few hours?

That's exactly what I would suggest. Sit somewhere where you can raise your hand above heart level, and keep and keep
it there for as long as you can.

Kaz did you see what I posted before about pepper? Not your doggie lol, ground white or black pepper, quite a bit, straight onto the cut.
An aunt of mine used to do it for bleeding, I've done it myself, it doesn't sting and does work :)

Oh thanks for the advice everyone :) Di I'll try that - and the arm elevating - if it starts again 8-)

Loz I was totally taken aback, I honestly expected her to put a plaster on it after what she'd said, but you feel silly making a fuss don't you? Perhaps I should send the Trust the dry cleaning bill
