But now there is blue skies.

Morning all :D

Well it was sunny, but it's looking a bit overcast right now so we'll see.

We had a lovely day with Z,M and the boys yesterday. It was a bit overcast to begin with but the sun came out for the afternoon and it was quite hot. The boys had great fun paddling in the sea. It's Zachery's 12th birthday this coming Sunday (where did the time go) and as E and I will be up in Wilts for mother's garden party we won't see him on the day so yesterday was also a pre birthday treat. Of course that always means a trip to Sorbetto for ice cream and I bought a cake for when we got back here and did the candle thing too :D

Waiting for the builders to arrive, think they're going to start the structural alterations to the kitchen today. Also need to have a frank discussion with Terry about all the outstanding jobs he's responsible for.

Hope you all have a good day :D

Morning all

I had a lovely weekend; friends round for lunch on Saturday and then Sunday a day of just pottering about and clearing out most of the hallway, ready for the painters to come tomorrow. Hopefully by the end of this week it'll all be done.

Feeling a bit sorry for myself - woke up on Sunday with the top left lip and my right eyelid swollen - the 1/2 lip looks like Kim Karshadian having had a bad botox job. No idea what triggered it, but I was on antihistamines all of yesterday and it hasn't gone down a bit; all rather odd. I'll be spending the day googling me thinks :D

Other than that, usual work day for me; having nails done this evening and then home to finish off clearing the rest of the hallway

have a lovely day all

Morning everyone

Quite warm again, so a day of doing not a lot today, I think. Been a bit daft, trying to get things done in the heat and they're just going to have to wait for a couple of days - going down to much better temperatures from tomorrow 8-) 8-)

Berlimey Ria  Hope it was just a bite or something and a nasty reaction x

Good luck Jen, talking to Terry. Builders (being married to one) often take opn too much, not wanting to let any-one down and then over-stretch themselves. And they really believe the saying "that'll only take half an hour/hour/a couple of days" What it really means is "that'll only take a day/2 days/a week"

Dinner tonight will involve something with minimal cooking - that kitchen may look lovely, but it's flamin' furnace in this weather

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning all,

Busy weekend and Mrs S didn't want me on the computer. Now I'm back at "work", I can talk.

I've just asked the question about how many people were working on the RBS Williams & Glyn separation. Got my answer and it's not good for anyone contemplating a contract job right now. 5,500 and that does not count the IBM staff and Infosys staff recruited to support us. 80% are contractors too. People are going into panic mode right now.

I just sent off a quick "motivational" mail to a job in Dusseldorf. They wanted an Aug 15 start and I'm available now to do that. I have two competitors but none of them have my experience. Now I know the scale of the disaster in the UK, getting out might be a very good idea, for a while at least.

Today I'm heading back to Edinburgh. It was going to be a quick dash at lunch time to the Airport and work from the Café there until flight time. Now, I think, it will be leave at 3pm and head up the road slowly, relax at the airport and head back in. There won't be anything important before tomorrow at that time.

Ria it sounds like you reacted to something. Horrible when that happens. Hopefully it will go down shortly and you'll be fine, otherwise a visit to the doctor is in order.

Have a great day everyone.

I hope you lip is better soon Ria. Nothing much planned here, hospital visiting this afternoon is about it. Nice and sunny here atm but windy which is unusual for the time of year. Have a good day everyone.

Good morning all, it's grey and cooler here today.

I'm just back from the gym and about to walk Billy. Not much else planned apart from hoovering.

Ria, that sounds nasty! If it doesn't go down during the day is there a pharmacy where you could pop for advice anywhere near work?

Enjoy the new shoes Kaz!

Have a good day all!
