Get your detective hats on....

Tom's been telling me for a while to keep August 2nd free, apparently that's when I'm getting my birthday present from him. John's been saying all along that it's a really thoughtful gift.
I asked him tonight which part of the day I need to keep free and he said all of it, and I need to have some form of ID with me.

All I can think is an internal flight somewhere? I can't think of any other reason why I'd need ID. Am I missing something obvious?

I've no idea Saundra, it's just one day so far away is out  Plus he's a student so....
No one's touring who I'd go to see.

Had kind of got my hopes pinned on lunch at The Little Dessert Shop in Wolverhampton ;)

  Mick thought he was getting ID'd when he bought a bottle of wine once, as a pop-up notification came up on the till and the cashier called for a supervisor. Until he realised it was the cashier who was underage, and that's why it needed a supervisor :P ;) I was in stitches    :ugeek:

If only!
Di, I'm terrible with surprises - I was already peeping in the gift bags my Mom had just given me as we drove away from their house last night
I honestly did think he was taking me to The Little Dessert Shop so this has totally thrown me.

You know, last week I was in Morrisons buying a bottle of wine for our neighbours who were getting married. I went to the self service checkout and obviously the notification came up. The assistant came over, stood quite close and stared right into my face for longer than necessary and then pressed the button for the sale to continue. No smile, nothing said, just a stare :o
That's so funny about Mick

Am I the only one who thinks that it is cruel to give so much notice of a "surprise" and put you through all this hell of wondering what it might be?

For a while I would be dropping in subtle questions here and there. "I had to use my NHS card as ID today, will that do on the 2nd?" "I am going to get a new outfit, what do you suggest - a frock or something smart-casual?" "My nails could do with fixing, but what colour and do I go for gel, matt or gloss, patterned or plain, and do I get my cuticles done as well?" (remember I know all about nails ;) ) "Oh gosh, look at these shoes, I wonder if I should go to the Nike shop or get something a bit more "dressy", what do you think?"

I that doesn't work just pin him to the wall, rolling pin in hand, and threaten to beat it out of him.

Don't worry, questions will be asked!
For ID he said I needed a passport or a driving licence, so passport it is!

Frank, what do you suggest for my nails?
