I was in the pool for a swim at 6.55am!

If I didn't have things to do I might just have floated in there all day.

I'm meeting a couple of my work colleagues in town for lunch today.

Seeing at it's been 4 weeks since I broke up from work we'll have a lot to catch up on.

Another chilly, windy and cloudy start to the day It warmed up a lot yesterday, but stayed mostly cloudy

Off to Ourique for food shopping later - we won't need so much beer, as we're down to just Marco for today and as soon as it' cools down, then we can have the wall painted and also need to lecky and shower sorted. Another 6 hours of water going in the pool today Also waiting for Nelson to come and sort out the bomba

Well it's sunny here, but not set to be quite as roasting hot, which with my busy day is probably just as well Seeing my client at 11, then my visitors this afternoon, although I didn't hear from AR last night so am not sure if they are still coming. Hopefully she'll let me know this morning if they are, but Hannah definitely still is

Marco and Jose were saying yesterday that they've never known as summer as bad as this - didn't start getting hot until a couple of weeks ago and will soon be cooling down again.

The weather here in the Baixo Alentejo is certainly different from the Algarve We struggled up top 40C yesterday, but it was really muggy

Yes...even though 40C is hot as long as it's not muggy you can cope.

Will your winters be colder than the Algarve Ton being as you are 'inland' more? Or will it be warmer as you're away from the sea?

I know we found Portugal cold at night late September when we went on holiday but figured it was because it's on the Atlantic coast.

We're going to be a lot colder here Ally Think 2 ton of wood for the fires Already sorted Dimas and Heldar (another one) will be bringing and stacking later in the year.

Because the Algarve is on the Atlantic, it can get cooler at night - not as cold as here though - but where we were, East Algarve, we were protected by the bit that comes out at Faro, so less wind and the warmest place in Portugal in the winter.

Morning all

Bright and sunny and promising to be another scorcher.

I'm off out for coffee with the ladies this morning. We're expecting deliveries tomorrow so might do the weekly shop later this afternoon. Depends if the electrician appears and how long he stays.
