Ria, they have three dogs who are rescue dogs and although they'll bark at us, they're not the problem. It's the mad boxer
They've already told us he's a real softy
but not to put our hands through the fence - yeah, as if
This house was empty for a long time and they only moved in a couple of years ago, so the dog George, isn't used to people next door. We thought we'd cracked it a while ago, but no, he still doesn't like us getting near him. In fact, we can be sat on the front terrace and he'll poke his head under the fence panels and bark at us, but nicely
He'll race down their side of the land, as we drive down and bark madly at me, as I'm opening and shutting the gate
Our neighbours at the bottom of the drive have a lovely dog called Toby, who'll wag his tail madly- But he and George had a run in when Toby was small and now if George is at the bottom of their garden, Toby goes bonkers
Judy, Toby's mum, said George really went for Toby when he was small, so she avoids him like the plague. And the guy putting the pool in built the house where George lives and he said, only last week, that the dog was mental.
So it's just something we have to put up with. Sadly. If there is one thing that annoys me, it's the fact that their house - next door, with the dogs - is built so close to ours - but this is Portugal and if you have enough land, you can build where you want.
Sorry, my Monday morning moan over
