I know that I am a bit of a republican, but I am certainly for sending her my best wishes.

90 years old, with 65 of them on the throne, and still being all there is no mean feat.

Happy Birthday Queen Elizabeth II.

She truly is a remarkable woman.

She has kept up the promises she made when she became queen.

The first time I saw her 'in the flesh' was when I was 13 years old and was singing in a choir of
a thousand schoolchildren in the Royal Albert Hall. I mentioned this to her when I sent a letter
to her on the occasion of her 80th birthday, and she replied, through her lady-in-waiting, that
she remembered well the occasion, which she had attended with her sister, Princess Margaret.

We should be very proud of her.

That's wonderful Aggers. I've just watched the BBC programme about her, with some wonderful footage, most never shown before :)

We recorded the programme and have watched some of it. Going to bed now because we are tired, but absolutely loving all the glimpses into their family life, and will watch the rest of it tomorrow. She has never been my queen, but I have the most enormous admiration for this very remarkable lady - the first time I ever saw a television was watching the Coronation in the house of my aunt's friend in Exeter.
