Morning Ally, Saundra and everyone

A gorgeous morning here - no idea how long that will last as more rain is forecast  but the washing machine is on ;)

Have a lovely day, the pair of you, sounds good, both of your days.

Off shopping later, boring supermarket stuff, then back to more rock shifting and stick gathering. We've cleared one side of the fencing, on Antonio's land, just got the lot near the trees to do, but that can wait until next week. My arms need time to recover

Might pop down for a couple of beers later, might just sit on the terrace and enjoy the view :D

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning everyone :)

Ally that sounds great, I could sit and watch the sea all day long especially if there are boats :D

Saundra have a lovely day out :D

Ton, I hope the rain stays away and that it starts to warm up a bit for you there! :)

Well it's sunny here but it does still feel a bit chilly! The Snip Doggy Dog lady is coming this morning to shear our two terrors  She parks her adapted van up in the drive, we feed the electric lead through the window and then she's good to go  The dogs are always pleased to see her - for a split second until they realise what's in store  ;)  They always look so different before and after, it's like getting new dogs  Otherwise I'm not sure what I'm doing yet today, playing it by ear I think although there is zumba tonight as usual :Hi:

Have a good day :D xxx

Morning all :D

Looks like it could be another lovely day, fingers crossed.

Terry's here and about to start the demolition.

I'm off for coffee with the ladies this morning and later today we're going to the cinema to see The Huntsman: Winter's War with the rather delicious Chris Hemsworth. It's had mixed reviews but as long as there's plenty of action we'll be happy

Hope you all have a good day :D

Morning all

Ally and Saundra, enjoy your respective days with the respective older and younger generations

Poor dogs Kaz, do they both go in the van together or one after the other; if the latter - what does dog 2 do whilst dog 1 is in the van; happily oblivious or hiding away
Ton, hope the weather holds for you and you get done what you need to do and can then relax and enjoy the rest of the day
Jen, best of luck with the demolition works; wise to be out the house whilst that's going on
Osc, when done with the h/w stuff at yours, want to come do mine please? It's in dire need

Usual work day for me after a very early start. Karl, Nadine and family were due to land at 6.55 this morning but their flight came in at 6.14 already. so I rushed to get out the house and was on the M25 just after 6.30am... I feel like I've done a whole days work already  But it's lovely to have them back home and whilst they had a fantastic time I think they're all glad to be back in their own home as well. Early night for them all I suspect :D

Weather wise we had a nippy start - a thin layer of ice on the windscreen again :o . But expecting to come up to 17 which is good

Have a lovely day all

x

Good morning!

Just got back from picking up a prescription from the local LloydsPharmacy.

Whilst I was down in the "village", I had a chat with Jeff who runs the hardware store. Jeff is the local wildlife expert and I wanted to run a possible sighting of an Unusual Bird I made last Monday, early morning, while lying in bed and staring out of the window. Something large was leisurely orbiting the neighbourhood and I saw it twice in silhouette, Raising My Suspicions ..... (no, not an ostrich!). Jeff confirmed that what I'd seen was a red kite (very distinctive, if not unique, forked tail)!

Apparently the group of breeding pairs they released into the wild many years back which successfully colonised the Chiltern counties like Oxfordshire have been spreading north, up the M40 and M42 corridors (roadkill being an incentive). They've been occasional visitors to Kingsbury Lakes, a local attraction about 6 miles away, and there have indeed been the odd sightings of them passing through the general area.

Really pleased about that - I've always wanted to see one - never thought it would be out of the bedroom window, though! :D

Well done Ossie :D :D

We have eagles and storks here, as well as all the other normal swallows, swifts, hoopoes and cheeky sparrows. Not to mention magpies, bee eaters and other birds we've not identified yet.

Well the lean to is almost down, good job too as the old chap who lived here put it up and it wasn't insulated so got very cold and damp. Guessing it will be the conservatory tomorrow. The whole job is likely to take around 3 months or so.
