Boa Viagem, on the IC1.

Just been done out, fairly small menu, but came out lovely and hot - and proper chips  :Hi: :Hi: :Hi:

Grumpy had the porco preta mista, which came with those chips and a salad of red and green cabbage, with grated carrot. (basically, black pork mixed grill)

I had lombinho de vitela (which was pork, as they'd run out of the beef) as well as those chips and a larger salad.

Half a litre of red, bread, olives, butter and coffee, for under 27 euros.

Very good service, so we'll be going back again.

Much better than the Algarve

Ton, what is black pork? Is it from a type of pig or is it because of what they eat?

Frank, it's the most succulent pig - fed organically on mostly acorns. And they look a bit black, too

Bit fatty, but even I eat it.

The flavour is intense, depending on what cut you can get. The shoulder, cheek, top leg are best, apparently.

Do not buy it in a supermarket, it's rubbish    We did, once, I chucked it out :cute: :cute: :cute: :cute:

We go the the Adega Monte Velha and they have the most bestest black pork. And we can still have a meal for about 25 euros, with the wine and stuff.
