That charity thing we went to last night - why do people have to be complete gannets on the buffet?? If some people had had just one plate (okay, piled high, but one would have been enough) rather than 3 or even, in one case 4 plates of food, then there would have been enough for everyone.
We paid 15 euros a head - what food we had was good, the band was very very loud, so a lot of people left as soon as they started - having had their 3 plates of food
But the wine and soft drinks were included in the price, and our table of 9 had 5 non-drinkers (2 on a diet and one wouldn't drink the wine, 2 non-drinkers)
but Steve, Grumpy, Mary and I made up for that
The taxi was 20 euros, so a rather expensive night out - probably not to be repeated, we'll just plead poverty next time
But I have been told that I must go along to at least one coffee morning so I might just go to one, we'll forget about the gardening club, yoga and other stuff, I think
