Remember the parking ticket?

The one I got for parking in a disabled bay, which I would have paid, had they not got the registration number wrong, rendering it invalid?
We wrote and told them the number was wrong and they wrote back with photographic evidence and a new ticket with a different serial number on but the right reg number. They cannot legally enforce anything but the original ticket, which is unenforceable with the reg number wrong. So we wrote and told them that and also pointed out that the car is registered for disabled use and we do have a blue badge. They wrote back again and asked for photocopies of the tax disc and the blue badge. So we duly sent them.
Today they have written to say they are not prepared to waive the ticket still, but they will now accept the reduced sum of £15 of which they will donate 10% to a disabled charity.
As we are obviously now into bartering I am so tempted to offer £10 and half a dozen free range eggs
Any credibility they had has flown right out the window. All they are trying to do is recoup a small percentage of their fee. They know they don't have a leg to stand on, but how that letter made me laugh
