Oh Jo!

Mind you, I can remember being 21, having a housewarming party at our new house until 4am, getting up 3 hours later, taking Christopher to his childminder next door, then cycling the 4 miles into work at the Forestry Commission offices in York, and not feeling any ill effects at all :?

Just caught up on the "late night" story, Jo - I would have been frantic with worry. I remember Miss Osc not coming home at all one night, so far as we were aware, she had been at a party locally. This was before mobile phones. The next morning I had to start ringing around and eventually she phoned me, as someone had alerted her that I was looking for her. It seemed to me that she had had too much to drink and crashed out on someone's floor, although she did not quite admit that ;) I can tell you, she got a right earbashing from us both when she got home.

The only thing is..........their turn will come ;)

I've done it myself Osc, so yes...it definitely comes back on you  ;)

I went out one night and bumped into an ex-boyfriend who invited me to a party. Turned out it wasn't a party as such, just us and another couple. He drove but then had some drinks so couldn't drive me back home, there wasn't a house phone (this was the mid-80s so no mobiles either) and the house really was in the middle of nowhere on it's own down a maze of country lanes so I didn't have a clue where I was so I couldn't even walk and find a phone box.
Got home the next morning once he'd sobered up to find that the police were treating me as a missing person and members of the family were out looking down ditches for me

The friend I'd gone out with covered for me because she knew that my parents detested this fella so she said that she didn't know who I'd left the club with and that made it worse. If she'd said who I was with I'd still have been in trouble but at least my parents would've known.

I was given the silent treatment for a week.

We have a doggy visitor. Tom's friend Jake from university has called in and he's brought his dog with him.

Bill's currently hiding.

Jo

We gave Uncle Len a good send off. So nice to see everyone, but such a sad occasion :? My cousin's wife Shirley turns 60 next March, as will I, and they're going to throw a big party, and we're all going to be there 8-) :)

Rang Hugo this morning, to get more gas.

Said who I was, told him what I wanted and gave our house name.

Ah, yes, he said, Mercedes' house

She's been gone nearly 3 years
