They can be grown over here Saundra but need to be planted about November time when it's cooler.

I really must give it a try.

here's a bit of useless information - Tulips are actually of Eurasian / North African origin and are the national flower of Turkey...

I love tulips too - and Ria I never knew that I always associate them with the Netherlands, so that's interesting

When we lived in Germany we went to the flower gardens one year
Kockenhoof?or something and the flowers and colours were amazing

Just had to google the spelling - Keukenhof I've never been Saundra, would love to go one year. A friend has been a few times and raves about it as well. Actually thinking about it; most people that have been do that

*Sigh* So we booked this Lisbon trip back in June. Discussed the flights, whether to stay two nights or three (feeling three is better because you get two full days), discussed taking hand baggage only and whether we could manage with it for three nights. Booked flights. Found a hotel that we had actually looked at when we were in Lisbon for a few hours last year. Booked it.

Today, he expresses enormous surprise when he "discovers" that we are going to be away for three nights

He is very pleased as he thought we were only going for two nights, even though we spoke several times about not doing our childminding on Thursday. He. Just. Does. Not. Listen.
