The fridge part of our fridge/freezer hasn't been 'right' for a few days.

The engineer called round an hour ago, declared a part of it was kaput and would cost more to repair, which has resulted in Don uttering the words that fill me with horror: "we'll go and buy a new one'"

This is heaven for Don - he's in the shower now gaily singing along expecting a mooch round various electrical shops whilst I'm supposed to join in his enthusiasm!

WRONG!!!

Unbeknown to him I've googled worten.es and bingo! Tra la! A fridge/freezer that fits the bill perfectly.

No need to trail round the shops. No need to pretend to be interested in big white lumps of machinery. No need to sulk and sigh like a bored teenager.

In we go. Buy. Pay. Get out.

Job done.

Ally, we like to look at the stuff before we buy, if possible, so we check stuff out in Currys or wherever, and then find the best deal for it online. Best of both worlds then

I can't see any good in a world that involves walking round electrical stores.

We've struck a deal - he'll go in Werton's and have a look at what I googled, then he'll have a mooch round 'just in case he sees something better' - I'll be outside (in the shade!) watching the planes as they fly right over the retail park I'll then go in and we'll buy the one I googled! I know we will.
