Two hours ago I threw out all the left over Christmas food.

So now L has decided to bake a chocolate cake.

Sigh.

I can never bring myself to do it Debih, other than things that are beyond eating or in danger of going off :D
Actually I think all we've wasted is half a bag of salad (which was free as W/rose delivered the wrong one and the driver went and got us another big bag), and a bit of the h/m hoummus.

Half the Greek orange cake is still in the freezer, so that can be my birthday cake :D
Other than that, I think what we still have is some sausage rolls (from Bb's mum, in the freezer), a fair but of chocolate, and just 2 or 3 pieces of mini-stollen :)
Oh and some Wensleydale with cranberries ;)

I threw half a pack of pate (out of date), some stale mince pies - went to the birds, some forgotten about sausage rolls and that was it so not too wasteful.

The bits of cheese have gone in a bag in the freezer and will go in soups and sauces.

L used the last of the cream for her chocolate ganache.

I'm pleased as I hate waste!

I gave half of the leftover Christmas cake to Harry to take back for him and his dad. I've frozen some mincey spies, and am encouraging B and her friend to eat the very tempting box of very posh chocs my SIL gave me :?

We do have a fair bit of tempting cheese left, but Mick will eat it ;) Otherwise there is hardly any waste this year, but then I didn't go as overboard as usual with buying stuff ;)

Oh that's pretty good then Debih, you too Kaz :)

We've always had a Christmas cake as Bb and I both love it - but it never gets cut at Christmas and he and I eat it all January until it's gone.
So I didn't buy or make one, we just had the mini-stollen which have worked fine at satisfying that fruit-cake taste but far less damaging!

I cheat a bit and buy a nice fruit cake which I spike with booze for a few weeks, then ice it

I did actually buy a small chocolate panettone and that's untouched as yet, but doubtless Mick will manage

Oh and we have a cupboard full of chocolates and biscuits. We had loads this year.

I'm not too bothered about them as I don't have a sweet tooth. Though no doubt I will scoff the liquers!
