so sorry i missed this Kaz!

Glad to hear your Aunt is doing well, fingers crossed she is mobile and can get home soon, tbh you are safer recovering at home in regards to the normal infection risk and more so at this time of year with norovirus etc, so deffo best to be home!! If she has all the aids I am sure she will do well!

We have rehab up here, my 1st placement was in an ortho rehab ward so we had many ladies who had similar ops come to us for a few weeks before going home (ended up there for more than a few though!), but tbh if your aunt can mobilise and manage independently I would say home is best!

Maybe as with other aspects of the health service it is slightly different up your way Poll - nobody has mentioned rehab to AR. Shame as it sounds helpful in some ways, but she will manage I'm sure :) :)

Cheers hunny :)

Jo I think so too ;)

Os the fitting is already on the loo, the chap who delivered it fitted it on for her :) I expect if any of the equipment is 'wrong' for her my cousin R will sort it before he leaves :)

I was just about to update :) I spoke to my cousin R late last night, AR is still in hospital, but hoping to get home today :) It seems Saturday was a bit over-ambitious after all ;) She is doing very well though in herself :)

glad AR is improving
and as much as she wants to come home it takes time
if its your hips or legs you need to be able to move about all be it very slowlly
it will take time im afraid

Thanks all :) It was the hossie that told her Saturday to start with, I thought it was quite soon myself and AR is happy to go with the flow - but I guess everyone is more comfortable in their own home 8-)

I'm sure she will be happier at home as long as all the nursing care and physio is in place for her x
