Well we are back. Different antibiotics again. Still blood in the urine, even though you cant see it now.

The sample we took looked much better, clearer and we couldn't see any blood, but he tested it and said there is still a lot of blood and other signs of infection. He has changed antibiotics to high dose Cephalexin which I am pleased about.

He did say do you smoke and afterwards Tim said why did he ask that? I shrugged but I know, its because the risk of bladder cancer is drastically increased in smokers. I am trying not to dwell on that and he did ask it before he tested the urine. He still thinks it is a bladder infection, but wants Tim to have further investigations if the blood hasn't cleared.

So here we go with antibiotics number 3. I was so sure he was on the mend last night :boohoo:

Let's hope these abs work your dr should sent a sample to the hospital to find
The right abs for the infection But our hospital took 10 days before we got a result take care

Thats already been done Saundra, thats how we know it is an e.coli infection sensitive to four antibiotics, of which two havent worked.

The result was back within 48 hours

Thanks all, I really hope these work too, he is really down about it now, A week is a long time to feel this rough

Nasty though it is I would recommend a prostate biopsy.

Our GP is very good so I am sure if they feel that is what is needed they will arrange it
