Yay, so glad it went well... :D :D :D

But I'm surprised she's coming home so soon; does she live on her own or does she have someone with her that will help her? My mom is having her hip done on the 20th, and because she lives on her own she'll be in hospital for 2 weeks and then be transferred to a ReHa (ie rehabilitation) where they will make sure she is 100% fit and can do everything before allowing her home; she'll probably be there for about 3 or 4 weeks. And her time there will be spent doing physio and exercises etc and hopefully meeting new people and making new friends. And I gather that even if she lived with family she'd still be in hospital for at least a week and the ReHa for a minimum of 2

They don't really do rehab here though Ria do they? I know things are different in Germany from what Zoe told me about Benji's treatment over there............

As said, my cousin R will be there for several days then she has people coming in to help her ;)

To be honest there is no way I would want to be stuck in a British hospital for two weeks convalescing.............

TBH I don't think she has the option of staying any longer even if she wanted to, I think there are certain movements etc she has to be able to do first but it should be this weekend - I agree it does seem a bit quick, but she will have support and help at home :)

Thanks everyone :) 8-)

Really good news that it went well! I'm sure she'll do much better at home rather than being stuck in hospital! :D

Pleased to hear it went well, Kaz - excellent news!

The aids like the raised chair to put over the loo - well, they simply were too large to fit in either our en-suite or the downstairs loo. Same with the washing stool. But no matter, Mrs O's injury was very different to your Aunty's operation so things like the loo weren't a problem here ..... I hope that your Aunty can make use of the equipment they've given her.
