About 7days here and I live next to a beautiful kept cemetery
But 3/4hr from nearest cremation at Scarborough but our family use the one in hull as it's more central for us all bit of a nightmare sometimes

There's no burial space left around here so, unless a plot has been reserved, there's just Stafford crematorium serving a large area which I suppose is what causes the long waiting times.

Oh my goodness, Jen, such a long wait, so hard for you all. Will your sister come from Australia? I am always amazed at the long wait for funerals in England, when my brother died in London (25 years ago this August  ) it was over two weeks as there was a bank holiday too. We went over the day before and it only really hit me when I saw his coffin in the church. Over here, you could die early on Saturday and be buried on Monday. If it is a cremation it takes a day longer. It can be an extra day or two if there is an autopsy, or if family are travelling from abroad, but it never takes weeks. Look after yourself, Jen, you will feel very tired xxx

Over here, it's the next day. Which is maybe a bit too quick, from what we're used to, but there aren't any facilities here.

When my dad died, he didn't want a funeral service - so we just had a walk into the crematorian, 4 days later.

Apparently it's a busy time, the cremetorium is fully booked out, a depressing thought really :(

My sister won't be flying over Osc, she's already got tickets for August and can't really afford to pay for more flights. I'm okay with that, Mum had lots of wonderful holidays with her in Oz, better to keep those memories.
