Time for a sit-down, in the shade, I think

Dusting and polishing done, bathrooms cleaned, other bits and bobs done. Spuds cooking in steamer for later, rice, onion and garlic cooked, now cooling. Pork steaks and entremeadas out of the freezer.

My bird of paradise plant is about to burst into flower for the first time - I go out every morning and check to see

Oh, I love those Ton - how lovely to have one flowering!
I hadn't actually seen one until Joe was born - John's boss and his wife came around to visit when he was a couple of days old and bought a gorgeous 'tropical' arrangement and there were some in it.

Oh, I love those Ton - how lovely to have one flowering!

They are beautiful flowers; so very elegant. We were lucky to have them in our garden in SA and they were spectacular when in flower. Another tropical plant I just love is Frangipani; do you get them where you are Ton? Their scent is just incredible
