A vac bag is the thing that hangs of the back of a Hoover, till Dyson came along. Chuck everything out of the case on the floor and Hoover it up till next year. True. Honest. We've all done it.

Are these things that you store stuff in and then blow up?

Ally you fold up your spare bedding, or clothing you won't need until the seasons change, put them in the bags then use the hoover to take all of the air out which makes them very flat, then close the valve which makes them airtight! It's to maximise your storage space I think they are quite well known about here these days, you can buy them in Wilkos, Robert Dyass, those sorts of places

My daughter said she would be here at quarter past twelve to pick up her telly. At twenty to one I phone to ask if she was still coming, and when.
"YES! ALRIGHT! FIVE MINUTES!" she replied, in a very British Gas Customer Services kind of way.

It is now one twenty-nine..... she must have meant five mins on a woman's decimal clock - ten hours in day, ten mins in an hour.
