I'm so pleased, our village now has a Tesco express :)
Makes it worth going (about a 10-minute walk); there's a one-stop but it's usually things like the odd point of milk I need, and both that and the shop at the end of the road tend to have the ones out that only have a couple of days left on them. I only use about a pint a week so they're no good to me :D As for salad stuff, forget it
Just been up there for yoghurt (the shop over the road doesn't do plain!) and some chocolate that happened to jump in the basket ;)
It also means there's a free cashpoint :)
Since there's an independent pharmacy in the village too, I've swapped to that for my prescriptions :)

Minnie does so little at a time these days I miss my walks. I do intend going for more on my own when the weather's better, but at least it means I shall be popping up there a few times a week :)

Sharing bag? More like a "hide behind the fruit in the fridge so that you don't have to share 'em" bag :P
But no, just a small bag unfortunately

We could use a Tesco Express in our village. We have McColls which isn't very good - there's a poor range of goods, no fresh fruit and veg, short-dated chilled stock - and an independent shop which is dark, dusty and dingy but the village has grown so much (around 400 new homes in the last 5 years alone) that a small supermarket is very much needed. An Express opened down near to the gym last Summer but it's still a 20+ minutes walk away so you can't quickly pop there for something you need as you're gone for close to an hour.

  Oh yes, you need your hiding places! I know I do ;) :D

We have a Co-op about 10/15 minutes minutes walk one way, an M&S Food at the garage 10 minutes the other way and the huge Sainsburys about 25 minutes walk away, but since B moved out I've done most of our food shop as and when in the smaller Sainsbury's and Iceland in town, and then picking up heavy or bulky items like loo rolls and stuff about once a month when I'm out with Mick in the car.....

I agree - hiding places are of paramount importance!

For almost 10 years our laundry room has been the venue for many a hidden goodie - apart from Don popping in to put away the washing tablets - no one but me goes in there.

Same reason as why I sometimes hide 'premium' ice cream under bags of frozen broccoli :P

Even Mary Berry said she keeps chocolate in her tights drawer so she's got it when she wants to bake a cake
