Berlimey Saundra :o :o :o

Julia is more than happy with her midwife, this time, Last time wasn't quite so good, but 5 years later on and she's more relaxed.

The midwife has been calling round to her home for the last couple of weeks, so no travelling to hospital, although I was a bit erm, peeved? angry? vexed? with her for driving into Uxbridge this afternoon.

My mum in law was a midwife and she was horrified about how things have gone and what's expected now.

Julia was preferring hospital birth, but as she said, Oliver was so quick, by the time she gets to hospital, then it'll probably be all over and then it's the hassle of waiting for "some-one" who has probably never seen her before to say it's okay to go home. The reason there are so many midwives there is because the population is mostly later in life mums - probably due to the area. Windsor is a bit posh, in'it ;)

Saundra, I quite agree, I was in Queen Charlotte's, in London, for 10 days when I had Julia and wasn't allowed out of bed for 24 hours. But things things, people, are better at understanding now. But Julia and I agreed, it's all the same, eventually. the baby has to come out the same way

Actually, thinking about it, I only had one home visit from a midwife - not the one's who delivered, then had to go to the clinic.

Oh I have no probs with home births (far safer than hossie for low risk births) or with coming home early - I was out after about 14 hours with Harry - but they really should come out every day for a week to check mum over :( That sounds risky to me. Cost cutting no doubt.

Yes Windsor is a bit posh, lots of older well-educated mums who know how to ask for what they want! ;)

And I never thought Julia was a bit posh, but, as she said, she knows how to act the part. Hence so many midwives, I suppose.

I did say I'll be over if she needed me, but she told me that everything is sorted - wonder who she takes after?   and she'd rather see us both next year.

And having looked at flights, we can go from Lisbon to Heathrow, which is just down the road, she picks us up :D :D , then we spend a day or so there, pop up to see some odd bods in Birmingham, another day back in Windsor and back to Lisbon :D :D

Ally and Di, we'll get the train :D :D :D :D
