You are well rid Ton  :?

I do my bedding on 60 but on a short wash - I just adjust the temp ;) That's to kill the dust mites as I am allergic to them    I ought to be in a plastic bubble really :P

Lol Mm, every time this comes up I do a search and make sure it's right, but it's definitely fine - and the labels in all my sheets etc say 40c :)

People on various forums talk about killing bedbugs, which is complete rubbish, if you had bedbugs you'd need Rentkil, not a wahing machine.
Kaz is right, if you're allergic to dustmites you do need to take more care but if you're not, they're not a problem, they live everywhere.

I do an occasional towel wash at 70 I think it is, to give the machine a clean and a work-out ;)

You should be fine at 40 Shell, I just like to zap the dustmites so I don't wheeze at night ;)

Blooming heck Di, you are right - if you had bedbugs you'd burn the blooming bedding (and bed  ) :x Icky ick

Sorry all - had mom with me for the long weekend and that usually means no time for the computer / internet / FB / VV... etc.

Weka, my machine sadly is well and truly beyond repair. It was making a very loud noise whilst spinning so I figured I'd try just one last load (pet bedding) that didn't need spinning but the drum has totally shredded something inside and I think water has gone into where it shouldn't but it now doesn't even switch on anymore - oops. I was lucky to get the door open, the bits out and then had to scoop the water out.

Saundra, I had a quick look at the Daily Mail site, but can't see anything - that would have been a good deal, but I suspect; given it's Miele VERY expensive

I had a look at a Samsung machine over the weekend - it's on special as well and comes with a 5 year parts and labour warranty so that is quite good as well. But I sadly suspect that when I get to order on Thursday or Friday the special price won't exist anymore; as they did say it was a bank holiday offer. Oh well - nothing I can do until payday so I'll figure it all out then :D

Re the wash cycles - I always wash my bedding at 90 degrees, but that's because the cats sleep on my bed. Towels I usually also do on either 90 or 60 because I think it's more hygienic. Everything else is on a 40 wash
