Thanks both - he was great!!! :D

I actually wish we HAD sat a bit closer.....as it was, our seats were about half way back, right in the middle, so when he walked to the back of the theatre up the aisle, we were STILL too far away!!  Great evening though, I do love spending quality time with my daughter 8-) ;)

So glad you enjoyed it Gal - probably a tricky balancing act, too close or too far away ;)

I used to love spending time with my mum, we had the kind of relationship most of you who have them seem to have with your daughters. On her birthday for instance sometimes I'd buy her tickets for a show in London, we'd go, bit of a wander, have lunch, go to the theatre, then drinks, dinner, late train home...lots of giggling :D

That must have been wonderful Di :) My relationship with my mum was tricky to say the least, so when B was born I vowed we'd always be close, and friends as well as mum and daughter, and we have been. I really treasure her......I adore my boys too, and Mick of course, and don't love them one iota less, but it's a different sort of relationship with B 8-) :)

That's nice Kaz with you and B.

I'd have loved a daughter..I couldn't possibly love my boys any more than I do, and we're really good friends even though I'm 'mum' but I like to think if I'd had a daughter we'd have been really 'girly' together and gone for cocktails.

It wasn't always like that at all Kaz, it improved hugely as I got older, from when I was 25 or so.
Even then it wasn't perfect by any means, but we were very close in our own way, even more so once she was poorly and I do know she was very glad to have me then.
I realised later that actually we were very much alike, so when I was younger there was no way we could live happily together

My mum was an 'older' mum for the time, she had me when she was 41 and as such we probably didn't have as much in common as we could have...even so, I have some fond memories of spending evenings doing jigsaws together, baking, chatting.....we liked similar tv programmes (I'm talking late 70s/early 80s here) but going out together wasn't really the thing.

Jen and I have very similar tastes on most things - comedy, music, films, a SOH....but she is MUCH more outgoing than me  After the show on Thursday, we found a bar and she bought us both a drink and a bowl of chips to share until our lift turned up :D For me Newcastle is a biiiig city, but she lived there for four years and knows it very well ;) We never stopped talking :D
