Aw bless her that was a lovely gesture, but as you say no need :) You have lovely neighbours there Jo, ones you know you could rely on in a crisis.

I hope their insurance comes good soon, and everything can be replaced and sorted asap xxxxxxx

It practically was a new floor Weka - it's only recently been fitted :?

Saundra, the fire service suspect it could've been moisture from meat which had been put on top of the microwave to defrost which had got into the workings.

Kaz, people really are lovely. Another neighbour is the manager of a hotel/restaurant/bar just around the corner (where our girly nights out take place, and it's a gorgeous place) and he's said that if they need to vacate the house while it's being deep cleaned this coming week, which is a possibility, he'll sort them out with rooms there!

How lovely for you to know they all rally round like that Jo :)
There's not been any kind of emergency here since we moved in but we do kind of know that if anything did happen to anyone it would be like that.

The neighbours who we share a drive with are lovely here, I've chatted to them many times and they offered that while we were away Becks could knock any time if she needed to 8-)

The other neighbours are round the corner as only us and the neighbours I mentioned front onto our bit of road, we are on a bend that faces a playing field, so we hardly see them.................

They are and it works both ways as they are obviously nice caring people too.

At least they don't have the worry of where to stay should they need to vacate, which hopefully they won't

Di, it's reassuring to know that isn't it?!
Where we lived before I'm not so sure that people would've reacted the same :? It was a different community altogether.

Ooh you know what's surprised me? Friday afternoon the fire service were around here, knocking on doors and offering advice, and then they were around again yesterday to see anyone they'd missed.

Kaz, that must've set your mind at rest to know that there was someone very close by if Becks needed help.
