£4 is a bargain!
Virgin wanted £25 per person per flight when we went last year, so it would've been £200 on top of the flight price to prebook seats.
No way was I paying that. I checked in online exactly 24 hours before we flew, the earliest that I could, and we'd been allocated 2x 2 seats together with a few rows between but I managed to change it so that we were seated two seats behind the other two which is exactly what I'd have been booking had I paid to prebook. Coming back we'd been allocated three together with one across the aisle which was fine.

Oh, and when I checked seating a few days before we flew the price to prebook had increased to £30 so it would then have cost £240.

As my flight in June was only 40€ I quite happily paid another 10 for my favourite seat.

When Don travels on his own he's quite happy to have any old seat. When we go together he coughs up for 8F...and then the one next to mine.

I like an aisle seat so would happily stump up for one!

Best flight ever was when I travelled back from New York on my own, it was a night flight and the plane was half empty so everyone just took a row of seats each and spread out. First time ever that I've properly slept on a plane, I woke just as we started the descent into Heathrow. I was a bit miffed that I'd missed my breakfast though

Ex and I had that on flight back from Sri Lanka Jo, a whole row each
We had to get off at Karachi (armpit of the universe) but still had whole row each all the way to Amsterdam, it was wonderful
